University of Michigan Human Resources seeks a Marketing Coordinator to join its communications team. This is an opportunity to join a high-performing team responsible for supporting the more than 45,000 faculty and staff in their work to advance the teaching, research and patient care missions of the University of Michigan. This position is in Human Resources Communications, the central team responsible for internal communications about the university’s benefits plans, health and well-being programs, human resources policies, employee engagement and recognition programs, professional development programs, recruiting and employment services, and more (hr.umich.edu). The Marketing Coordinator is a new position and will be an integral member of our team, working directly with our marketing and communications specialists, multimedia designers, social media coordinators, and web developer. This person will be responsible for executing communication and marketing plans, including writing and editing articles, emails, web pages and more, for a variety of UHR programs and services. The Marketing Coordinator will also coordinate email campaigns to market programs and services to employees and create and maintain customer databases. We’re looking for a collaborative team player with excellent communication skills. Must have strong attention to detail and experience managing multiple projects and deadlines at the same time. A proven ability delivering results for clients or organizational leadership is a must, as is the ability to think independently and seek creative solutions to problems. Responsibilities: •Responsible for preparing, writing and reviewing communication materials for a variety of media, including websites, newsletters, email and social media platforms. •Execute communications plans, including creating, editing and submitting content for various internal print and digital channels. •Manage multiple email marketing campaigns, including writing or reviewing messages, scheduling delivery, managing distribution lists and improving effectiveness through testing and other best practices •Develop and maintain customer databases for marketing programs •Write or update content for webpages using a content management system •Review design proofs and proofread written materials as needed •Create and schedule social media posts •Provide occasional on-site support at events, including basic photography •Work with vendors such as printers to request quotes and support production needs •Additional duties as assigned Additional Information University Human Resources seeks to recruit and retain a diverse workforce as a reflection of our commitment to serve the diverse people of Michigan, to sustain the excellence of the university, and to offer our students richly varied disciplines, perspectives, and ways of knowing and learning. Required Qualifications •Bachelor’s degree required and minimum 3 years of experience in a marketing or communications position preferred •Excellent communication skills •Proven success meeting deadlines and managing multiple projects at the same time •Experience developing or executing communications plans, such as writing articles and copy, and submitting articles or advertisements for publication •Experience developing or coordinating email marketing campaigns, with basic knowledge of HTML code and experience with email management tools such as MailChimp desired •Familiarity with digital collaboration and productivity tools, including website content management systems, Google Tools, and Microsoft Office Desired Qualifications •Experience coordinating social media campaigns using Facebook, Twitter, Instagram and LinkedIn •Collaborative team player who places a high priority on internal and external customer service •Ability to perform with a high degree of attention to detail and accuracy •Commitment to creating and maintaining a positive, inclusive workplace |
