Posting Summary: The University of Virginia's Frank Batten School of Leadership and Public Policy seeks a Director of Communications and Marketing to develop, implement, and assess a communications and marketing strategy that articulates and advances the School's mission and vision for the future. Reporting to the Director of Outreach and Engagement, the incumbent will conceive and deliver consistent messaging, integrated approaches, and innovative strategies to increase the visibility and impact of the School, and serve as the lead communications and marketing liaison with contacts both within and outside the University. The Director supervises the Events and Operations Coordinator who provides logistical and administrative support for outreach and engagement efforts.

Required Specific Degree/Training: Bachelor's degree in marketing, communications, public relations or related field.

Preferred Specific Degree/Training: Master's degree in marketing, communications, public relations or related field
Required Minimum Level of Experience: Considerable - 4 to 7 years
Preferred Specific Experience: Specific leadership experience in a marketing and communications role in higher education, government, or a non-profit organization.

Ability to oversee implementation and modification of technological components of communications programs. Ability to translate the University's educational mission, strategic aims, and programs, into persuasive communications materials.
Required Computer Applications: Microsoft Office suite. Familiarity with the Adobe suite of applications. Experience leveraging social media platforms (Twitter, Facebook, Instagram, etc.) as part of a comprehensive media strategy.
