Public Relations and Marketing Coordinator: State role title is PR & Mktg Spec III, pay band four. Position #00067. Full-time position with fringe benefits. Minimum starting salary is $33,598. Responsibilities: The Coordinator of Public Relations and Marketing positions reports to the Vice President of Institutional Advancement. The Coordinator of Public Relations and Marketing will develop proven and innovative marketing strategies, create and maintain college publications, write and distribute press releases to the media, coordinate ongoing publicity for college programs and events, and support the collegeâs online/digital presence (i.e. web, social media). Responsibilities also include coordination of public relations activities as the official spokesperson for VHCC after the President for routine media communications. â¢Manage all aspects of college marketing and communications with an emphasis on creating a unified public image and brand. â¢Create connections with and seek input from various internal and external stakeholders to guide marketing and communications needs, and to shape messaging and media usage. â¢Manage the development and maintenance of college print collateral including design, layout, and sourcing for production. â¢Manage all forms of advertising, to include design, preparation, and placement of advertising with media outlets. â¢Partner with other staff to create and maintain an up-to-date and engaging college website and social media presence. â¢Support college participation in community events, college-sponsored special events, and visits by special guests and the public on campus that are designed to enhance positive public relations. â¢Serve as the collegeâs chief information officer, working directly with the President and Vice President(s) to develop institutional responses to issues affecting the college and disseminating information to the media about campus events, programs, and accomplishments in a timely manner. â¢Work directly with the President and Vice President(s) to develop responses to local, state, and federal issues that impact the college and to organize advocacy campaigns in coordination with any VHCC and/or VCCS efforts. â¢Participate in institutional effectiveness activities and processes including: strategic planning, college-wide surveys, and focus groups. Implement appropriate institutional effectiveness processes related to public relations and marketing including annual departmental planning, data collection and analysis, and evaluation activities to improve programs and processes as determined necessary and appropriate. â¢Perform other related duties as assigned by the President and Vice President. â¢Establish and maintain effective relationships with students, faculty & staff and other stakeholders important to the college.
