Summary of Duties: This position, in conjunction with the Assistant Athletic Director of Marketing, oversees the development, implementation, and execution of a comprehensive strategic marketing and promotions plan for all home athletic events for all 17 sports targeting a variety of diverse audiences including alumni, faculty, staff, friends of WSU, administration, and current students. At this time, this position oversees, but is not limited to, the Marketing of the volleyball, baseball, cross country, track and field and swimming programs. This position also manages a variety of public relation activities on-campus and within the community, including direct oversight of the departments local print and radio advertising. This position also serves as the athletic department advisor for ZZUCRU, WSU's student fan group. This position is also responsible for oversight of the Marketing Department's student practicum program, including the recruitment, hiring and tracking hours for all Sports Management practicum students. In addition, the Assistant Director of Marketing & Promotions will work in conjunction with our multimedia rights holder IMG.
Required Qualifications: A Bachelors degree in marketing, public relations, communications or related field and three (3) years of professional level experience in marketing, promotional or related work. Any combination of relevant education and experience may be substituted for the educational requirement on a year-for-year basis.
