The Head of the Marketing Communications reports directly into the Head and Managing Director of Global Marketing, Corporate Communications and Business Planning, and Product Management and Development and oversees the Marketing Communications group. This group provides traditional marketing services to Pershing LLC and its affiliate business lines, including Pershing Advisor Solutions, iNautix LLC, Pershing Prime Services, Lockwood Advisors, and Pershing Limited, its London subsidiary. The marketing services include advertising, branding, product, service, and firm/industry initiatives marketing management, editorial, and external communications. The Head of Marketing Communications is also responsible for managing and motivating a team of 21 professionals, providing strategic direction, leadership, and supervisory approvals on behalf of the Global Marketing department as well as required to establish, report, and measure department goals and objectives each year, manage a multi million operating budget, make key decisions regarding reputational impact to the firm and generating revenue, conduct quarterly audits on marketing and communication files, oversee policies and procedures for her team, and serve as a senior representative of the Global Marketing department. Excellent business expertise is extremely important for this position. Overseeing effective customer communications and policies on behalf of the firm requires a deep understanding of the many solutions offered by the firm as well as industry terminology and impact. In many instances, technical or complicated details may have to be described so that it is clearly articulated to the customers and having a thorough understanding of how the various operating functions of the firm work is instrumental. In addition, effective marketing strategies can only be developed under the guidance and leadership of a person with top-rate knowledge of the markets/audience we are targeting, features and benefits of the offering, competitive landscape of the offering, including key differentiating attributes, and outstanding understanding of the goal and objectives. And because this position oversees the marketing and communications for entire organization, it's important that this position possess a broad business expertise that can be applied to each business line. This position requires executive judgment and innovative thinking to make decisions and design solutions in the dynamic financial services industry that is highly regulated and on a lean operating budget. On daily basis, this position is required to oversee the emergency communications process, which entails immediate decisions on effective communications in response to business continuity, disaster recovery, and reputational exposure incidents to the firm. Advancing the firm must always be top of mind for this position and as a result requires creative and smart decisions to be made regarding marketplace positioning in support of product and service rollouts, effective solutions for our customers, new business opportunities, mergers and acquisitions, and delivering exceptional service to our customers. This position frequently requires creative thinking for innovative solutions that will benefit our customers and their investment professionals to help them generate revenue and grow their business. Due to the complex nature of Pershing's customer base, designing and delivering effective solutions and methods that our broad customer base can utilize is key. This position must be able to lead a team that can manage an extremely high volume of work and execute under tight deadlines and in many cases, quickly react and execute unplanned deliverable without sacrificing quality. External communications, developing corporate messaging that sets the tone for all communications across the firm, defining the firm s value proposition, and the advertising strategy all directly impact the reputation of the firm and influencing marketplace perceptions. Defining and executing the marketing strategy for the firm s products and services directly impacts bottom line revenues. The advertising strategy, positioning of corporate sales presentations, extensive library of marketing collateral, corporate website, and providing positioning for RFPs all greatly impact the firm s perceived value which translates into revenue. This position is required to enhance the communications strategy on behalf of the firm as well as define strategic marketing strategies to grow adoption and utilization of our products and services. This position is responsible for the careers of 21 professionals, recruiting, engaging, and maintaining key talent in the department, defining goals and objectives for the department and managing up to an operating budget. It is imperative that this position develop strong relationships across the firm to successfully lead the Marketing Communications group. This position must have good relationship with the Corporate Marketing department of BNY Mellon, and specifically the Head and Manager Director of BNY Mellon Corporate Marketing group. This position represents Pershing on the SIFMA Marketing and Communications Committee and attends quarterly meetings and represents the Global Marketing department on Pershing s Customer Solution Review Committee. This position serves as the senior representative to more than 15 industry publications. This position is required to present goals and objectives of the department across of the firm and represent the Global Marketing department at key vendor and customer meetings.
College degree. 15 years minimum experience. 15-20 years preferred.
