Charlotte Prep School seeks a Marketing and Communications Coordinator to help advance the school’s mission. This role is designed for the appropriate professional to execute on tactics designed to achieve the overall internal and external marketing and communication strategy. S/he will report to the Head of School while working collaboratively with the admissions department. S/he is responsible for helping implement internal and external communications programs, marketing plans, marketing collateral, and lead generation programs. This is a full time, 12-month position.
Primary Duties and Responsibilities
Manage advertising schedule and place ads for open houses, branding initiatives, and special events.
Edit and maintain school websites.
Support content production of school’s social media presence.
Provide graphic design and video editing support to the offices of Development, Admissions, and Head of School.
Write press releases and develop story pitches as needed.
Photograph key student activities and events, and manage photography archive.
Coordinate agency vendors for production of materials.
Monitor the School’s editorial and graphic standards policies so that all publications carrying the School’s name and logo make a positive contribution to the School’s image and meet the high editorial standards expected of a leading educational institution.
Engage in other communications-related projects as mutually agreed upon with the Head of School.
Assist in designing data-driven storytelling that supports marketing strategy.
Competencies and Skills Requirements
Possess excellent writing, editorial, computer, and communication skills.
Ability to effectively manage multiple concurrent projects with exceptional attention to detail.
Graphic design and layout skills; good visual design sense (experience in InDesign preferred).
Facility with data interpretation, manipulation, presentation.
Must be a team player with a willingness to learn, take direction, and work efficiently and accurately.
Constituent focused (able to work easily and effectively with parents, faculty/staff, donors, and students).
Bachelor’s degree in English, public relations, communications, or related field.
Three to five years experience in a communications or public relations position (non-profit or education experience preferred).
