The Western Carolina University Intercollegiate Athletic Department is accepting applications for a 2019-2020 Ticketing / Marketing Internship. This is an 11 month, paid position, with primarily roles in assisting in generating ticket revenue, as well as ticketing and marketing operations. WCU Athletics is seeking a highly-motivated individual looking for experience in ticket operations, sales, and marketing. This person will gain experience in a variety of facets including but not limited to day to day operations, gameday management, customer service, and sales. This position will introduce an individual to all aspects of an NCAA Division I, Southern Conference athletic program.
Primary Responsibilities: • Greet walk-up customers and answer ticket office phone • Process reports in Neulion • Generate ticket revenue for football, basketball, and baseball through outbound sales strategies • Assist Director of Marketing with group sales • Responsible for helping with day-to-day ticket office needs • Assist Director of Ticket Operations with gameday operations • Potential for ticket operations gameday oversight responsibilities • Assist Director of Marketing with non-ticketed sports • Oversee Catamount Kids Club • Manage and schedule student workers and apprentices
Position runs July 1st-May 31st with some flexibility. WCU Athletics Ticket Office is open Monday-Friday 9:00 a.m.- 5:00 p.m.
Bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution is preferred. Ability to work flexible and non-traditional hours; including evenings, weekends, and holidays. Must have a valid driver’s license.
