We are looking for an energetic, dynamic and talented Marketing and Public Relations professional to help lead one of the fastest growing regional airports in the Midwest. Our new Manager of Marketing and Public Relations will be responsible for the overall marketing and promotion of the General Wayne A. Downing Peoria International Airport throughout central Illinois and the Midwest. The Airport has established itself as a major transportation resource in central Illinois with its award-winning 2011 new terminal, expanded in 2016. The airport enjoyed three straight years of record passenger counts from 2012 through 2014 plus a new high mark in 2018.
The successful candidate will work closely with the Director of Airports in formulating and implementing marketing strategies to enhance transportation services available from the Airport and develop and maintain thorough public relations programs designed to broaden community awareness of the Airport as a transportation resource.
Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
Ability to communicate effectively both orally and in writing.
Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with potential clients (airlines), other airport employees, the public, professional associates, agencies, and others.
Ability to prepare complete and accurate reports and effective marketing publications.
Knowledge of air carrier and general aviation airports is desirable.
Bachelor’s degree in business, marketing, journalism or related field, and a minimum of 8-10 years of stable, progressively responsible marketing experience is required. The ideal candidate will have a successful track record in either the general private sector or aviation related fields.
