Job Summary: Under general supervision of the Executive Director of Development and Alumni Relations and Executive Director of Marketing and Communications, provide high-level analytical research and administrative services for the External Relations Office. As part of the Development and Alumni Relations department at the School of Law, provide leadership, support, and coordination of services to help build philanthropic support for UC Davis School of Law as well as reach broader audiences of faculty, staff, students and prospective students to highlight the school's excellent scholarship and accomplishments.
Responsible for analytical and administrative support for various systems, programs, and communications related to gift acceptance, stewardship, recognition, and marketing operations key to the success of external relations efforts. Work closely and collaboratively with Central Development and Alumni Relations. Build and support administrative practices to increase efficiency in development and marketing activities utilizing best practices.
Provide critical support for donor regional and offsite events, relationship management including project management, research, analysis and direct donor interactions. In collaboration with the Executive Director of Marketing and Communications, assist with internal and external events including securing catering, creating invitations, follow-up communications, website and social media postings and day-of event support. Create processes and execute multiple regular alumni and donor communications including communications from the Dean. Draft messages targeted to segmented audiences for these communications. Review and execute additional marketing mailings, and mass emails on a regular basis including promotion and support for maximum impact of all events through digital and social media platforms.
Physical Demands: Ability to stand for extended periods of time during events.
Work Environment: Must be able to work in area w/interruptions from traffic, conversations, & office equipment, etc.
May be required to travel to meetings and events off-site.
Work occasional overtime to meet operational needs.

Minimum Qualifications: Project management skills to analyze, define, and assess problems and evaluate issues and needs.
Organizational and time management skills to take initiative and prioritize complex work under multiple competing deadlines and overlapping activities in a multifaceted and complex unit.
Experience using and managing email-marketing programs to send invitations and track contacts.
Experience creating social media content and implementing social media campaigns for fundraising, recruitment and news.
Knowledge of Content Management Systems (CMS) for updating the website.
Communication skills to support responsibilities including high-level interactions (verbal and in writing) with donors, volunteers, senior administrators, etc.
Writing, editing and proofreading skills to prepare information in appropriate form for diverse audiences and purposes.
Skills to analyze and interpret statistical records and compile results.
Knowledge of general accounting and financial principles to execute financial documents, gift documents, and other related items.
Experience in information management.
Preferred Qualifications: Experience working in a university development/advancement setting.
Experience with commencement ceremonies.
Knowledge of overall university organization, policies, procedures and practices.
Experience with Microsoft Windows, MS Access, MS Word, MS Excel, MS Outlook, Adobe.
Experience using project management tools to track tasks within group projects.
Experience using a variety of UC Davis computerized programs including KUALI and Advancement Information Services (AIS).
Experience planning and managing the logistics of meetings and events.
