A state healthcare association seeks a qualified and creative Marketing & Communications Manager. This is a full-time position for a highly organized, self-motivated individual with strong people skills. Working as part of a staff of three, this person will plan and implement all marketing and communications initiatives.
Major Duties and Responsibilities
Develop high-impact and actionable content for all distribution channels to grow membership, increase retention and meet non-dues revenue goals.
Design compelling brochures, flyers, e-blasts, website copy, social media campaigns, and other marketing content to promote products and services, including the annual convention, conferences, meetings, awards, and education.
Evaluate the success of all marketing and membership campaigns and ensure that all content adheres to branding guidelines.
Create and implement profession-wide and public relations campaigns that meet the organization’s strategic directives, and positively promote the association and nurse anesthesia in Texas.
Write press releases, media advisories, and other announcements.
Manage and update the public and member sections of the txana.org
Plan and maintain all TxANA social media accounts (Facebook, Twitter, YouTube, Instagram, LinkedIn, etc.).
Develop content and publish a digital quarterly newsletter.
Maintain relationships with vendors.
Oversee any public relations contracts and provide direction for promotional materials needed.
Identify and solicit potential sponsors and exhibitors for the annual convention conferences, seminars, and other TxANA meetings.
Bachelor’s degree in marketing, communications, journalism or related field or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Minimum three years of marketing, communications, writing, and editing experience, preferably in an association environment. Demonstrated working knowledge of publishing and production processes, writing for the web and social media and ability to meet deadlines and produce projects within budget. Some graphic design preferred.
Essential Skills and Abilities
Proven understanding of marketing and branding principles and the ability to build and execute campaigns with targeted marketing and thoughtful product positioning.
Excellent writing, editing, and proofreading skills, understanding of magazine production process and ability to create and produce promotional materials.
Exceptional communication, organizational, interpersonal and presentation skills.
Ability to take initiative, prioritize, manage multiple projects within deadlines and work as a member of a team.
Experience with business development and project management.
Familiarity with Internet technologies, website development, and content management.
Knowledge of MS Office Suite, experience with desktop and design software, content management systems, various social media platforms (Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, LinkedIn, YouTube, etc.), email marketing (Constant Contact) and texting services for business.
Ability to develop and maintain positive working relationships with co-workers, volunteer leaders, other organizations and industry contacts; tact, diplomacy and good judgment.
Excellent organizational, planning and follow-through capabilities.
Flexibility for changing daily activities and schedules.
Ability to travel, as necessary.
