The marketing manager manages the day to day marketing activities of the organization and long term marketing strategy for the company.
Duties of the Marketing Manager include:
Managing all marketing for the company and activities within the marketing department.
Developing the marketing strategy for the company in line with company objectives.
Co-ordinating marketing campaigns with sales activities.
Overseeing the company’s marketing budget.
Oversight of the creation and publication of all marketing material in line with marketing plans.
Planning and implementing promotional campaigns.
Overall responsibility for brand management and corporate identity
Preparing online and print marketing campaigns in conjunction with graphic design contractor.
Monitor and report on effectiveness of marketing communications.
Creating a wide range of different marketing materials in conjunction with graphic design contractor.
Maintain effective internal communications to ensure that all relevant company functions are kept informed of marketing objectives.
Analyzing potential strategic partner relationships for company marketing.
Seeking out and executing business sponsorships including single show sponsorships, gala sponsorships, season sponsorships and various naming rights.
Writing and disseminating press releases.
Seeking out earned media opportunities.
Managing social media posts (Facebook, Instagram, Twitter) including purchased ads.
Selling advertisements to local businesses (for pre-show slides, semi-annual Playbill, etc.).
Requirements of the role:
Bachelor degree in Marketing or related field.
Strong analytical and project management skills.
Confident and dynamic personality.
Strong creative outlook.
Background and/or experience in entertainment/events a plus.
Some night/weekend availability is necessary

About 1932 Criterion Theatre
The 1932 Criterion Theatre is a nonprofit cinema, theatre, multimedia art producer and venue committed to safeguarding this historic space for stories, storytellers, and audiences.
The Criterion has been a staple of the Bar Harbor and Mount Desert Island arts community since its construction in 1932. This season we will be offering a variety of programming suitable for all ages, about 75% movies, 25% alternative programming. This alternative programming will include live theatrical productions, an opera, music, mid-day children's programming, historical tours, and so much more!
