The Marketing and Communications Coordinator will oversee all marketing and communication efforts for the Career Center, including the creation and distribution of digital and print graphics, email marketing, social media presence, branding strategy, and web presence. In addition, the Coordinator will provide assistance during high-volume periods to the Special Events Coordinator in order to support logistical and operational elements of departmental events, including career fairs and other large-scale events.
The Marketing and Communications Coordinator will work directly with the Director, Associate Director, and departmental leadership team to create and implement marketing strategies. The ability to take initiative, manage multiple tasks and work independently is critical. Attention to detail and the maturity to analyze problems and exercise sound judgment in alignment with the department's priorities are required, as well as a strong commitment to the vision of the Career Center.
The Marketing and Communications Coordinator will develop and maintain relationships with the Student Affairs Marketing & Communications department, University marketing professionals, and various administrative centers within the University as well as external relations with other academic institutions, employers, and external vendors. Must demonstrate excellent interpersonal and communication skills, and exercise discretion and judgment to make relevant decisions concerning marketing strategies and execution, customer service, and purchasing or budgeting, seeking assistance from departmental leadership when necessary.
Bachelor's degree required. Previous experience in marketing, communications, and graphic design is strongly preferred. Experience using Adobe InDesign, Illustrator, PowerPoint, WordPress, Microsoft Word, MailChimp, Excel, Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, and social media scheduling software is strongly preferred.
