The North Carolina Central University (NCCU) Department of Athletics is seeking a sports marketing professional for the position of Marketing and Fan Engagement Coordinator. The successful candidate must be highly motivated, a self-starter and organized. This is a full-time position reporting to the Associate Athletics Director for External Relations and Resource Acquisition. Candidates should expect to work evenings, weekends and some holidays based on sport competition schedules.
The candidate will work collaboratively with department and university personnel to strengthen the visibility and connection of NCCU Athletics within the university and community. The candidate will be the lead member of the Athletics game day marketing team. This position will provide support in the development and execution of all game day protocols to ensure positive game day experiences for all attendees.
Two years of experience working in college athletics or professional sports marketing/communications
Strong verbal and written communications skills
Knowledge of and compliance with NCAA, MEAC Conference, and institutional rules that relate to this position
Ability to problem solve and make decisions
Ability to multi-task with frequent interruptions
Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively with individuals at all organizational levels, and project a positive,professional attitude
Must be available to work a flexible schedule including nights and weekends
Experience working with communications and development preferred
Experience and working knowledge of design programs and layout (i.e. Adobe Creative Suite)
Established experience meeting annual department goals in a fast-paced environment.
