The Center for Educational Leadership has an outstanding opportunity for a Marketing and Communications Manager.
Reporting to the Executive Director, the Marketing and Communications Manager will develop and steward CELas brand through marketing, communications, content development, and social media. This position will be in charge of engaging CELas audience and building brand recognition through the production of high-quality content and materials.
Key outcomes for this role include: better organizational visibility to key audiences, increased audience engagement through content and social media strategies, and more effective marketing activities resulting in sales lead generation.

Duties & Responsibilities oDevelop and implement effective communication strategies that build brand awareness and client loyalty. oCreate interesting and informative content a print and digital a to drive traffic and engagement that translates to sales and brand promotion. Includes organization website, blog, marketing materials, social media, articles and newsletters. oPlan and manage the design, content, and production of all marketing materials, ensuring they meet CELas brand identity strategy. oDevelop marketing campaigns from start to finish, including setting up tracking systems for campaigns and online activities. oRespond to communication-related issues in a timely manner. oMonitor the organizationas social media and online presence. oSupervise projects to guarantee all content is publication-ready, and, when appropriate, manage student assistants or contracted writers, graphic designers, and copy editors. oIn collaboration with the College of Educationas pre-award Grants Manager, coordinate grant applications and responses to request for proposals. oManage internal communication and coordination with the University of Washington and the College of Education. oOther duties as assigned
Work Location: Our office is located in Northgate Plaza at 9709 3rd Ave NE, Suite 505, Seattle, WA 98115. There may be need to travel locally to support meetings and events.
Requirements oBacheloras degree in Communications, English, Marketing, Education or a related field AND at least 5 years of experience developing and managing all aspects of a strategic marketing or communications plan within an organization, including determining goals and strategies, creating tactical plans, identifying resource requirements and producing materials. oCreative, entrepreneurial thinker with an audience-first mindset. oStrong writer who is able to empathize with CELas audience and adjust personality and tone for different efforts. oCuriosity, comfort with ambiguity, and able to learn on the fly. Strong organizational skills with proven ability to produce quality materials quickly and work under tight deadlines. oExcellent project management skills. oDemonstrated experience in working collaboratively within a team, selecting and directing the work with third party vendors, and managing numerous projects and simultaneously bringing them to successful and timely completion. oProficient in using software and applications such as MS Word, PowerPoint, Excel, InDesign.
Desired oExperience with marketing or communications for a K-12 school district, a K-12 related business, or with a non-profit, mission-focused organization. oExperience with grant writing for a K-12 school district, university or college.
Equivalent education/experience will substitute for all minimum qualifications except when there are legal requirements, such as license/certification/registration.
