Financial Management Services Financial Management Services (FMS) is part of the Stanford University Business Affairs organization, whose vision is to work together to make administration seamless and efficient to enable and support teaching, learning and research. Specifically, this position will reside within the FMS Marketing and Communications team, a part of the Organizational Effectiveness department.
As a part of the Marketing and Communications (MarComm) team, the Marketing & Communications Specialist is integral in supporting the development and implementation of marketing and communications initiatives, enabling programs, services, events and/or products to meet business objectives. By partnering with and advising business owners, the Marketing and Communications team engages and supports clients through clear, timely and engaging communications.
The team is looking for a thoughtful, organized and nimble individual to help the team elevate its value proposition, exceed client expectations and implement processes and tools within MarComm that drive continued excellence. Critical to the success of this position is the ability to work well autonomously, as well as with a team in a collaborative environment. The individual is committed to supporting the end user in tandem with the goals and priorities of FMS.
Communicate and support the university's understanding of policies, processes, and systems associated with programs and services such as purchasing and reimbursing business and travel expenses, payroll services, spend management and purchasing marketplace
Recommend and execute communication and engagement strategies to raise awareness of, promote and support continuous improvement of products and services that inspire and enable excellence in financial stewardship for the university
Implement integrated marketing, communications and engagement strategy, across a variety of channels (i.e., digital, print and webinars)
Partner with and collaborate with stakeholders across the university to facilitate change management
Conduct market research, including competitive benchmarking, and analyze campaign/program/ service/event effectiveness to inform decisions regarding strategic marketing direction, product segmentation and customer targeting
Redwood City Campus
Our new Stanford Redwood City campus is the workplace for approximately 2,700 staff whose jobs are important to supporting the university's mission. The campus brings departments together in a collaborative environment that reflects Stanford's culture and mission. Minimum Requirements: Education & Experience:
Bachelor's degree and five years of relevant experience; or a combination of education and relevant experience.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
Excellent written and oral communication and presentation skills
Ability to create strategic product, program and/or services marketing and communications plans with the user in mind
Excellent client service skills with a focus on supporting and aligning business goals
Experience with marketing and communications tools and software
Demonstrated problem solver
Ability to drive cross-functional groups toward a common goal
Experience with market research and data analysis
Seven or more years of experience
Experience communicating about financial products, processes and/or systems
Experience advising, managing and balancing client needs at a portfolio level
Change management and implementation experience
